about me

mini maite

Born in Perú in 1989, I was raised between Sweden and Spain. I find in these early travels the seed that has turned me into the curious person I am today.

a few things we can chat about

  • 🔑 Execution is key: Turning ideas into reality is the real challenge and I’m really invested in making things happen. I am a problem solver.

💡 Never stop learning: I advocate for a culture of curiosity and iteration to drive innovation and refine products. Testing and experimentation are crucial and failing is part of learning.

📣 Storytelling is at my core: Storytelling is central to my design process. I believe in the power of narrative to effectively collaborate with my peers and to create user experiences by connecting ideas and fostering engagement.

🫶 Passion fuels my performance: I thrive when deeply passionate about a project, bringing my most juicy creative ideas to the table. My passion is UX.

  • I firmly believe that integrating diverse perspectives is pivotal to innovation and success.

During my tenure at Glovo, I co-chaired the Women @Glovo Employee Resource Group, where I spearheaded initiatives aimed at fostering an inclusive workplace culture.

I've also actively participated in and hosted several Women in Tech events in Barcelona, sharing insights and experiences to inspire and mentor emerging talents. Currently, I serve as a UX mentor at Female Shakers, guiding aspiring designers to navigate and excel in the tech landscape.

  • To counteract the constraints of perfectionism and fuel my creative process, I engage in various art and craft projects. My fave so far is carpentry!

I enjoy sharing my journey on Instagram under the handle @callahan.wip, where I explore vulnerability and continuous learning.

  • Music serves as a catalyst for my creativity so I’ve made it my mission to curate playlists that resonate with different phases of the design process.

My workshops go beyond the default Miro elevator music - I can promise that.

My current design mood booster is this one.

  • Relocating to Gothenburg at the age of 5, Swedish became my second language and Sweden, a significant part of my identity.

The Scandinavian principles of simplicity and functionality deeply influence my design philosophy.
